Cutting Skills Exercises
Cutting skills
These fun cutting exercises make it easy to learn to cut and practice fine motor skills. Cutting skills develop continuously and require lots of practice. When cutting, important fine motor skills in the hands and fingers are promoted, as well as the child's motor control.
Print out the template and let your child cut the paper according to the instructions. For those who are just learning how to use scissors, I recommend printing these cutting cards on thicker paper. Thick paper is easier for the helper hand to hold, while the working (dominant) hand cuts. If your child has experience with scissors, regular paper is fine. (Always use scissors with rounded tips for young children.)
